A new estimation method of OVSF code allocation algorithms for WCDMA systems
Abstract
Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor (OVSF) codes are used to support different transmission rates for different users in WCDMA systems. In this paper, we analyze existing code allocation algorithms and problems that they have to solve. To estimate the efficiency of the algorithms we propose a method, which consider blockings between codes during assignment. On basis of this method it is possible to build analytical models for an estimation of different algorithms.
